The month of February can only mean one thing to fashion lovers in New York City. Couture Fashion Week was back in the Big Apple. In spite of the snow covered sidewalks, guests in attendance made their way to the Broadway Ballroom at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Times Square. There was a buzz of excitement in the atmosphere as guests were taking photos before the show. Finally, the lights dimmed and the music started. It was SHOWTIME!
One of the presenting designers for the 4 pm show was Lourdes Atencio who represented the United States of America and the Dominican Republic. Each model walked the catwalk showcasing a variety of garments such as gowns, dresses, and other elegant attire. Some of the models wore matching headpieces and tiaras which complemented their outfits.
After the fashion presentation, the models posed with the designer in front of what looked like a sea of photographers. You couldn’t help but notice how diverse the model casting was. Models of different race, ethnicity and heights all shared the runway at Couture Fashion Week. If you missed this wonderful show, you’d better plan ahead and get your tickets for September.
