It’s Wedding Season… What Should You Wear?

Photo by Kevin Mock at FGNYFW Bridal

Hola Muñecos!

Its wedding season and I thought this was a good time to give some tips and advice to help you put together some killer outfits for these joyous celebrations. As is always the case with fashion, age is a factor when deciding what to wear… but, you may be surprised how far down on the list that consideration is.

FIRST CONSIDERATION: Dress code or No Dress Code.

There are six dress codes a couple might choose to have for their wedding guests. To understand each of these I am using information found on invitations by dawn’s website.

Dress Codes – What to Wear

1. Casual – casual dress suited to the season

2. Cocktail Attire/Semi-formal/Dressy Casual – Cocktail Dress

3. Themed Attire – Determined by the couple (See #5 Vintage below)

4. Formal Attire/Black Tie Optional – floor length dress or evening pant suit

5. Black Tie – formal gown

6. White Tie – full length ballroom gown

If there is a dress code that will narrow down your options, but there is still room for a lot of imagination! If there is no dress code, you can move on to the next consideration. Continue reading “It’s Wedding Season… What Should You Wear?”

ACID NYC | Dynamic Duo Returns to NOLCHA Shows for NYFW!

Watch my exclusive one on one interview with designers Evelyn Luna and Scott Chester of ACID NYC. I had to the chance to ask very personal questions in regards to what drives their love for the uniquely designed fashion trends they create together!

Video and Photo Credits: Juan Carlos Guevara of Peekapose Productions

I had the pleasure of being invited by NOLCHA to see ACID NYC on the runway for several seasons throughout my fashion career. This was my first opportunity to interview them one on one and boy was I excited. I started getting ahead of myself during the video interview because of my excitement I’m sure you can see I was extremely eager and grateful. Rocky Gathercole at Style Fashion Week New York

Hola Muñecos!

On day two of Style Fashion Week New York, designer, Rocky Gathercole showcased Spring and Summer 2019 designs at the Manhattan Center. These are just a few of my favorite looks from his collection this year.

Show stopper was the moment this elegant red gown game down the runway, such a 360 from his typical runway collection.

This evening had performances by Chloe Maggs and Leah Kate presented by Vezt Music App.

Essentia Water kept attendees, models and designers hydrated throughout the night.  We all enjoyed Tipsy Girl Wines while being dazzled by Rocky’s collection for this season.

The fabulous decor for Style Fashion Week New York was provided by Jimmy DeLaurentis.

Sitting front row was Ming Lee Simmons, Diggy Simmons, Julz Goddard (YesJulz), WolfTyla,  Sihoban Bell,  Deborah Cox and others.

Now you know my favorite looks tell me your thoughts. Which is your FAV?!?! I’d love to hear from you!

MUST SEE! Georgine Runway Collection 2017

For Spring/Summer 2017, Georgine Ratelband, designer of GEORGINE, was inspired by the type of girl who shops at Bergdorf Goodman AND Trash & Vaudeville.

“I think it is a more interesting concept of dressing, one where luxury goods coexist with Rock t-shirts, intricate couture beading meets motorcycle jackets and lightweight furs are punctuated by combat boots,” remarked Ratelband.

Keeping that in mind, Ratelband also drew inspiration from the way that young women always pilfer the closets of their mothers, and how they would wear more classic pieces, but with their own twist put on it.

Specifically, Frances Bean Cobain and Zoe Kravitz, who have mothers with the most incredible closets, came to mind for Ratelband when designing this collection.
